Chapter 13[]
Satou takes note of the slave girls brought before him, Lulu and Arisa, and notices how Japaenese-like Lulu is and becomes curious about the statement Arisa said. The slave trader tells him that they are sisters, and Satou approaches them, whispering something in Lulu's ear which she doesn't react to. He whispers the same thing into Arisa's ear, which does get a reaction out of her as she thinks she has a spider on her. As it turns out, Satou whispered something in Japaense to the both of them, and based on Arisa's reaction, she must have originally come from Japan like he did.
He forges a contract with the two of them, though he plans on collecting some knowledge from Arisa before releasing them, believing it will be easier than when he tried to release the beast girls but couldn't due to the discrimination demihumans suffer from. He gets a little bit more information from Nidoren about the ups and downs of slavery and he tells him he will be in town until the morning of the day after tomorrow, so he has until then to ask anymore questions. He takes his leave as Arisa and Lulu introduce themselves, with Arisa even offering to become Satou's romantic partner (which he is not interested in). The other girls introduce themselves and they all get along well, which relieves Satou. He dedices it's time for them to return to the inn as he gets a whiff of some nearby food, and he decides they go get dinner.
Thankfully, a man who runs a food stand that serves meat offers his services, as he had been saved in the labyrinth by Satou and his slaves. He treats them to red deer meat stew as Satou decides to order some more stuff for everyone to eat so he can buy some clothes for Lulu and Arisa, and in the process, he also gets some yakitori for himself. As he walks by, he sees some demihuman children slaves starving and offers his yakitori to them to share, after which he goes back to buy some more yakitori to share with the girls, who react to it quite happily.
The group return to the inn after finishing dinner and are greeted by Martha, after which he asks if there are rooms to rent for the girls. Mosa, however, tells him that while his room is available, there are no other empty rooms, and all the other patrons are glaring at his slaves, which causes Satou to consider finding a new inn to stay.
Chapter 14[]
Satou notices the looks the patrons were glaring at his slaves and starts to get irritated, yet he asks Martha if she can lead Lulu and Arisa up to the room and asks Mosa what the cost of an additional room is before saying he will sleep with Pochi, Tama, and Liz somewhere outside. He is interrupted by Arisa who takes his hand and tells him to calm down before turning to the patrons and telling them to stop glaring. She asks Mosa if they can borrow her shed, citing that compassion should be shown to the children because they saved many people in the Labyrinth. Mosa agrees to lend them her stable and has Martha show them to it while bringing an extra bed to Satou's room. Satou, however, notices that after Arisa spoke, all the patrons backed off, though he thanks Arisa for her help.
Thanks to his new 'Tailoring' skill, he creates two beds out of hay for Pochi and Tama, who compare them to the beds in the castle. He leaves Liz with their supplies and tells her to subdue anyone who tries to take them. She declares she will defend the items but Satou clarifies that he wants her to prioritize her own safety as well as the safety of the children. He then gives them a supply of food for them to eat before going up to his room.
Upon arriving he tells Arisa and Lulu that they should go to bed now. He does want to know how Arisa knows Japanese, but seeing Lulu look a little under the weather convinces him that it can wait. Lulu, however, starts trying to remove Satou's clothes but he tells her he doesn't need her help and she should focus on herself. Lulu starts backing up but trips, but she tells Satou that she is fine when he starts moving towards her. He backs off and reasons Lulu may have a slight fear of men before deciding she was just nervous meeting a man. After he takes off his jacket, he turns around to see Arisa and Lulu standing before him naked, which he uses his 'Poker Face' skill to hide his surprise. He calms down and tells them that they will catch a cold stripping everything off because the futon is thin and gives them trousers and long shirts to wear. Arisa starts asking about night services but he immediately tells her he doesn't need them, leaving her shocked. He tells the two that they will be shopping early morning so they need to sleep, but notices Lulu crying. He comforts her by covering her up and she and Arisa go to bed. Satou reiterates that he doesn't need night services from now on (though he does admit if they were older he may have given in to temptation). He tucks them in before going to bed himself.
As he sleeps, Satou finds himself being woke by the feeling of someone on top of him and the glow of purple light. He realizes Arisa is on top of him still naked and kisses him on the lips. Though he is confused, he quickly realizes he is being drawn to her. He knows that he shouldn't feel that way for a little girl and gets suspicious, bringing up his menu and finding that she has cast magic on him. He grabs her and forbids her from using magic skills before ordering her to undo the magic currently in place, which she does reluctantly. After his thoughts start clearing up and sees he gained new skills, which one of them he maxes out, he asks Arisa what her goal was trying to control him with her magic, finally realizing she used magic at the inn to diminish hatred for the beast girls. Arisa tries playing dumb but Satou once again demands an answer, acquiring the 'Interrogation' skill in the process.
Finally relenting, Arisa confesses she wanted to service Satou, declaring it was love at first sight for her when she met him. Confused, Arisa explains that Satou possesses all the physical traits she finds attractive in a man, and she couldn't accept the idea of him refusing night services from her, so she thought she could use her magic to make him fall in love with her. Satou asks if she planned to control him afterwards, but Arisa denies this, saying that she feels it is her responsibility as a slave to please him. Satou accepts this answer but asks what her aim was previously. Arisa answers that she hoped he would sneak into her bed but when she saw he had already fallen asleep, she snuck into his bed and gave into temptation when she saw him. This, however, earns her a pull on her cheek by Satou, who demands she holds herself back.
Satou asks what Arisa is exactly before seeing new skills he had never seen previously. Arisa answers by introducing herself as Arisa Tachibana, a Japanese person who was reincarnated with all of her previous memories. She asks Satou if he was summoned to this new world based on his appearance.
Chapter 15[]
After a few seconds after Arisa reveals she was a Japanese woman, Arisa asks why Satou went quiet, citing that he is the second Japanese person she has met so far. Just as he starts wondering what she means, Arisa reveals that Lulu's great-grandfather was Japanese as well, even though she never met the person herself. Arisa makes a comment about Lulu's appearance, revealing to the confused Satou that all of her physical traits that Satou considers beautiful is seen as ugly in this world. He asks about himself and she says that he isn't that bad, but others think he is a foreigner.
Changing the topic, Arisa asks once again if Satou was either reincarnated or summoned. Satou asks about the difference and she explains that reincarnated people are those who have died in their previous world and reborn in this new one while transferred people were forcefully summoned by magic, such as the Hero. He asks if people reincarnate as babies, which she says is true according to a 'God'. She then explains that summoned people keep their clothes when they get summoned, and she heard this information from the Hero in the Saga Empire, which she claims is the only one capable of summoning a Hero. He starts wondering if the Saga Empire would provide him with a way back home and decides to go there after he finishes sightseeing. Arisa sneezes and Satou finally throws a blanket over her.
After thinking about what to say to her next, Satou tells Arisa that he was neither reincarnated nor summoned, explaining he woke up in a wasteland after falling asleep at work. He also tells her he didn't meet any God nor was he standing in the middle of a summoning formation, and his level was 1 with the magic power of 10 and no skills except for the Meteor Shower ability. At that point, Arisa becomes confused herself.
Satou changes the subject to ask about what skills Arisa has, who agrees to tell him. She starts with that her 'Mind Magic' skill is level 5, having put all her skill points at birth into that one. He begins wondering about how many points she has and asks her how many skill points does she get when she levels up and how many points are needed to level up the 'Mind Magic' skill. She answers that it is usually between 2 and 12 so her average is 7, but the skill points for leveling up that skill differs. Satou starts to wonder if he is a special case because of how fast he picks up skills, and it rivals the strength of 'Meteor Shower' and 'All Map Exploration'. He decides to speak about it with her at a later point when he feels he can trust her completely.
Satou asks Arisa what she does when she wants to learn a new skill and she answers that she picks something from the list. He asks if there is an opportunity to add skills to the list and she reveals that it is at the time when more skill points are acquired and meeting the conditions will add new skills to the list, and for her it updates when she gets half the needed points, completely different from how he gets skills from performing some type of conduct. He tells her what he learned from his slaves while omitting his situation and deduces that reincarnated and transferred people have their own unique classes. Arisa tells him that her next skill is 'Self-Status', which allows her to check her own status and it allows her to distribute her strength and intelligence values whenever she levels up, something Satou sees he doesn't have. Arisa next reveals she has 'Hide', which allows her to hide her skills, so others will just see a 'none' when they look at her even though Satou saw it as 'unknown'. Arisa says that she has 'Status Check' to check other people's status, 'Item Box' where she can store items and is convenient for carrying around since there is no additional weight.
To demonstrate, Arisa asks for Satou to allow her to use her skills again and uses the 'Item Box' to pull out a jar of water to drink, though Satou observes how different it is compared to his own method of storage, such as how it requires magic power to remove items. He ends up putting his hand into the item box and finds himself with the skill as well. Arisa concludes revealing that she has two unique to her that Lulu is unaware of. The first is 'Over Boost' which allows her to boost her one attack many times over from its original output with all of her power and stamina, a skill Satou believes makes her a one-hit cannon despite Arisa thinking it suits her as a heroine. Her second skill is called 'Never Give Up', which makes it that at least 10% an attack or magic will take effect no matter how high the enemy's resistance or level, which he figures she used on him. She also reveals that it can only be used three times and it recovers once every month, and she just used it three times on him due to his high magic defense. Arisa asks about Satou's unique skills while also advising he not share them with others and he sees he has four. Arisa says that according to the God, those who have many unique skills will have a big soul, which confuses him. He sees that the other three are greyed out and decides he needs to meet the requirements for them.
Satou asks how Arisa was able to use mind magic without chanting and she says that it is a hidden function of her 'Self Status' that allows her to use a spell without chanting, which annoys Satou as it means he needs to learn magic from scrolls since he is bad at spell chanting. He next asks about the contents of her item box and she pulls out five books on mind magic and several clothes in addition to the water jug. Satou asks why she can't just sell one of the books to free herself and Arisa says that as a slave, she can't have possessions and it would be taken away. She also adds that it would be suspicious of a girl with purple ominous hair pulling out a book about mind magic. Satou inquires about it and she says that if something bad happens the blame gets shifted to someone with purple ominous hair. He asks to borrow it later and gives her a bag of ten gold coins to put in her Item Box in case of an emergency, and not for anything else, which she agrees to.
Finally, he asks how she became a slave in the first place. Arisa reveals to Satou that as a princess of Kubooku Kingdom she attempted to improve the country using her knowledge in her previous life but failed, and an "unnatural" failure led the kingdom to civil war and eventually overtaken by a neighboring country, with their aim being a withering Labyrinth under the castle. The King and Crown Prince were executed while the remaining princes and princesses were blamed for the country's ruin and stripped of their status as royalty, being forced by Geass to be slaves until death. Arisa explains that royalty was needed to revive the Labyrinth and every full moon someone was sacrificed to revive the Labyrinth until it finally happened, leaving it so that only her and Lulu, who was an illegitimate child, were left alive. She wasn't sure if they were insurance in case the Labyrinth withered again but on the next full moon, a demon appeared and destroyed the castle and nearby town. Their master died as a result and she and Lulu escaped, living in the mountains until being found by Nidoren, since slaves can't enter a town without a master.
Satou asks why she didn't use her 'Mind Magic' to make Nidoren treat her and Lulu like his daughters, but she says she was too late to realize that. He asks what the Demon wanted and Arisa says she doesn't know exactly, thinking maybe it wanted to produce a Demon Lord. Satou asks if Labyrinths create Demon Lords and she answers that scholars believe that but the Gods have not confirmed nor denied it, so it seems to just be a coincidence. Arisa this time asks Satou about what he said about returning from the Labyrinth safely and wonders if he went to the Labyrinth City Celivera. Satou answers that he didn't and the one he was talking about was one that popped up underneath the city, which surprises her. After he explains the situation, Arisa wonders why a Demon would create a Labyrinth and that it should be impossible since there are only six active Labyrinths. Satou wonders if this was a precaution or a diversion but sees there is too little information to go off of. Arisa asks if she can go to it to raise her level, but Satou refuses to say that the authorities want to keep it under wraps, but he does offer to ask his acquaintance to help get her in, which thrills her. Satou realizes that if Arisa and Lulu go against the Geass, they will die, so for the time being they will have to stay as slaves until it can be overwritten, and he isn't heartless enough to push them away.
Morning comes and Zena comes in to greet Satou, though she is shocked to see Arisa cuddled next to him in bed undressed and calls him filthy.

Chapter 17[]
Satou sees that "The Tragic Story of Marquis Muno" was based on a true tragic love story which is why the characters are so complex. He figures out who are the leads are as he notices that Pochi and Tama fell asleep because they couldn't keep up with the story. The lead actor, who is playing the role of Zen, confesses his love to the lead actress playing Liltiena, who asks him to whisk her away from her castle. The next scene shows Zen and Litiena cornered by the Marquis who accuses him of stealing his fiancé and executing his family while calling it merciful. He proceeds to fight back as Satou notices that he isn't actually using magic and he defeats the Marquis. Before he can take his revenge, he is stabbed by Liltiena's attendant, declaring he is not fit to be with the princess. As he falls into Liltiena's hands, her attendant reveals that the dagger she used on him was coated in a deadly poison from a wyvern's tail and there is no saving him. Zen dies promising to see her in the afterlife. Unwilling to accept what happened, Liltiena commits suicide by stabbing herself with the dagger, declaring she won't let the Marquis have his way because she belongs to Zen.
The play continues revealing that Zen was turned into an undead and started taking his revenge against the Marquis' family using the sword he was killed with, but before he could succeed he is destroyed by a holy knight, something Satou feels was pre-arranged, especially with everyone's reactions in the stands. Zen puts a curse on the Marquis, who with a sudden change in character as noted by Satou, sacrifices himself nobly to save his land and people, which is where the play finally ends.
After the play ends, Satou's group leave to get drinks as Satou decides to get something to eat as well. He finds stand selling gabo bread and crosses path with a woman who sat in front of him during the play. The woman tells Satou that she believed the ending to the play was bad which Satou reasons is because of the holy knight that appeared out of nowhere and the Marquis' sudden change in character. The woman confirms but also adds that twenty years ago the script was very different in that Zen would achieve his revenge before the holy knight would appear to defeat him, and the reason it was changed was the nobles didn't like that portrayal. She also adds that Liltiena was of common birth, and the conflict was because the Marquis abducted her following her marriage to Zen.
After hearing the story, Satou returns to his group with gabo bread and crups to share, though the gabo fruit he and Arisa eat are incredibly bitter, so Satou instead eats the crups which he finds okay. Arisa and Zena talked about the play with Arisa annoyed that Liltiena chose death over revenge and that the Marquis was to blame for trying to interrupt the lovers while Zena argues that Liltiena shouldn't have tried to reject the marriage set by her family. Arisa asks if she would readily accept her family's decision to marry someone else instead of Satou, to which Zena tells her that she doesn't have a fiancé. Arisa asks if she joined the army to avoid getting married since married women would have to stay home and enlisting prevents Zena from retiring in five years. Arisa yells that if Zena doesn't have the resolve to throw everything away then she won't be able to love anyone but Zena insists she can't go against the family head's will. Arisa concludes that if she continues to be goody two-shoes, someone may steal her love from her.
Finally Satou stops Arisa and has her apologize to Zena while also earning the 'Mediation' skill and 'Mediator' title. He does understand Arisa's point of view but also knows that enforcing different values in countries with their own culture is wrong. He gets pulled out of his thoughts by Pochi and Tama who tell him that they want the meat skewers from before to eat. Liz offers to buy them which Satou gives permission to with Arisa joining them. Satou does notice a look Zena is giving him though. As they walk around, they meet with Zena's friends Lilio, Iona, and Ruu who look beaten up. After Arisa and the others leave to get the food, Satou asks if there was a wyvern outside the city where they were patrolling but they say they were actually fighting large fang ant monsters. Ruu yells that she will skewer the ants if she sees them again which Iona says is because they encountered a Ratman cavalry that snuck into the territory so perhaps they were leading the ants. Lilio said that the leader had a recognizable helmet and swore to execute him should she see him again just as Zena finishes healing her friends. She notices the other soldiers injured and moves to help them while Satou hears a voice belonging to Yuni and moves toward it with the other three joining him.
Before getting far they encounter Pochi and Tama holding a dead ant which they said attacked a carriage as Liz reports that none are hiding anywhere. Satou notices how different it is and pulls up his map where he sees a huge cluster of enemies making their way to their position. He tells Pochi and Tama to get their weapons, for Arisa to get Lulu, and Liz to get the curtain she used for her bed. After they mobilize, Iona asks what is wrong and Satou tells her that there are likely more enemies coming. They hear the warning bell and the soldiers move to the entrance of the city as Satou sees that the ants are level three and even though they are weaker than the soldiers, their tough exoskeleton, sharp fangs, and ability to fly is what makes them dangerous. He starts thinking that the magicians should burn the ants with fire magic outside but sees some trying to fly into the city. However, she sees them strike something and fall down outside the city, which Arisa says is because of the city's barrier, while also saying that there would be some weak points that the ants plowed through. Accepting this, he tells Arisa to take Lulu inside to keep her safe while he leaves Pochi and Tama to protect the entrance. When they ask about him, he tells them that he and Liz will chase away the monsters coming towards the inn.
Chapter 18[]
The soldiers close the gates to the city to keep the ants from getting in and Zena and the other knights try to keep the monsters from getting into the city by flying. Satou knows that the soldiers have the advantage in a ground battle but there are too many ants. He steps forward to fight but Liz volunteers to fight them, effortlessly destroying them with ease. He does notice some not attacking and realizes some have already reached the gateside inn. Thankfully Pochi and Tama are able to hold the monsters back easily and with great teamwork, which Satou notices. He also notices that Arisa is using her mind magic to make it easier for the children to destroy. In the end, while there were some dangerous moments, everyone made it safe and sound and within half an hour's time. He detects that a few of them have snuck into Nadi's All-Round Shop, and that Nadi has retreated into the cellar so he decides to go help her while leaving Liz with the gate.
Satou barges into the shop and sees several ants clawing at the door to the cellar and proceeds to strike them all down with a club, earning the 'One-Handed (Club)' skill in the process. He opens the door and calls to Nadi, who responds that she is okay, but he sees the entrance is covered in ant acid. Just before he thinks about covering it up to make it safe, someone new comes into the shop and calls her name. The new person Satou learns is the shop's manager, and he uses 'Ivy Control' to pull her out of the cellar safely. Nadi thanks both Satou and the manager as he asks who Satou is, where Nadi reveals his intention to find a house for rent. The manager, who Satou sees is called Yusaratoya Bolenan, thanks to him for saving Nadi as Satou sees he is an elf. Nadi sees him spacing out and Satou says it is his first time meeting someone with green hair, which Nadi says is because Yusaratoya is an elf. When Satou asks if they are the ones with pointy ears, Yusaratoya tells him that is wrong.
Nadi clarifies explaining that what Satou is describing is a species called a 'Booch' and the reason for this confusion is because the Hero who founded the Saga Empire over a thousand years ago called the Booch 'Elves', and it still happens today. Satou is surprised to hear that but knows that a person from Japan shouldn't know about elves, indicating there is a difference in the flow of time between the worlds. Nadi asks Satou not to call elves by the wrong name and Satou subsequently apologizes, which Yusaratoya accepts. Satou decides to leave and ask about the house at a later time with Nadi, who accepts.
Satou returns to the front gate and sees the situation has finally been taken care of. Zena runs to him and trips, who he catches as her friends watch. He learns from her that there were no casualties and the injured are already being treated. He also learns that Zena and her group would be joining the Light Calvary for patrols, which bums him that her day off was ruined, though Zena remains optimistic since her wind magic is great for detecting enemies and it would be good to make sure the other villages didn't get attacked. Satou accepts and they part ways, just as he meets up with Liz and a soldier. The soldier reveals that Liz has collected a bag of ant cores and demands he sells them to him. Satou tells the soldier that the priority should be the healing of the injured, but the soldier pushes it off and takes the cores. Unwilling to accept this, Satou demands the issue receipts from the man and for him to fill out the number of cores and money as well as his name and affiliation. The man accuses him of thinking him a pilferer but Satou claims he is just being thorough while also using his 'Swindle' skill. The man reluctantly agrees to fill out the paperwork and stamps it while also insulting Satou. Satou accepts the legitimacy of the signing while also noting that the man's behavior will cost him his job one day. He also sees he gained the 'Arithmetic' and 'Intimidation' skills and the 'Novice Merchant' and 'Shady Merchant' titles, though he wonders when did he sound intimidating. Returning to the inn, Mosa praises Pochi and Tama for protecting the inn (despite Liz never letting any monsters get past her which she chooses not to mention). As a reward, Mosa prepares a feast for them to eat outside, which makes them extremely happy. Yuni also brings Satou fruit for Lulu and he decides to find some medicine to up her appetite.
After the feast, Satou manages to get some medicine for Lulu, though it was tough because the group he saved in the Labyrinth treated him to some alcohol and a brothel and when he finally found a shop he got ten times the market price thrust at him. Thankfully with the 'Appraisal' skill he just obtained, he was able to haggle down the price because the medicine was about to expire and he made the merchant replace it with a good one. As he walks down the street, he sees a black feather fall from the sky and sees it belongs to a Shadow Owl. He decides to keep it and give it to Pochi and Tama as a souvenir. However, he hears a noise in an alley and rushes to it thinking it is a robbery. He sees the silhouettes of people attacking who he thinks are kids and uses his 'Night Vision' skill to see them. He directs their attention but sees that the assailants are actually monsters called Crawling Shadows, who move to attack him. Seeing that physical attacks won't work, he uses his magic gun to fight back. He manages to get to open air to avoid being struck by them and finishes the rest off before seeing a black sphere with a sword stuck in it, which he believes is a magic weapon that he uses to destroy it.
He walks over to the hooded person but when he takes his hood off, he sees that it is actually a Rat Man, who he deduces is part of the cavalry due to his red helmet. He manages to assure him that he is not a threat and sees another person wrapped up next to him. the Rat Man asks Satou to take care of the "princess" and he agrees, though he also takes him as well, acquiring the skills 'Medical Care' and 'Lifesaver'. Based on the information on the covered person's screen, Satou tries to bring her to someone who may know what the Rat Man meant by "princess". He brings them to the All-Round Shop and sneaks in with new 'Unlock' skill and places them on the couch. He sees that Yusaratoya and Nadi have awoken and walk down the stairs where they see Satou. They ask him why is here so late and he explains he brought who he believes is an acquaintance of Yusaratoya to the shop for treatment. Yusaratoya shines light in the room and sees the Rat Man, who Nadi refers to as the "Red Helmet" and is wanted as an infamous knight. Yusaratoya says he doesn't know him but Satou clarifies he is talking about the covered person that the Rat Man called "Princess", which confuses Nadi since Rat Men don't have titles if the person in question is a Rat Man.
Yusaratoya uncovers the person and recognizes the person as Misanaria Bolenan, or "Mia", another elf.
