In light novel volume 15, Duke Vistall's son Toriell hated demi-humans but became a weaselfolk follower upon hearing the phrase "The time of great upheaval is upon us. An era of drastic change will come, just as when the ancestral king and the first hero of the Saga Empire founded the kingdom." Just saying this phrase caused much of the Vistall dukedom to rebel against the current ruler in favor of his disowned son. In light novel volume 6, Ringrande Ougouch was temporarily enchanted by the phrase until she remember how much she loathed her ex-fiance.

I was originally constantly annoyed that Satou never figured out extremely obvious plot points despite his supposed extremely high intelligence. For example, his confrontation with Doghead should have told him exactly who is the Demon God but he ignores it.
Yeah, it is just that his high intellect knows that thinking any of this through would require him to change his life style and knows that he wants nothing to do with it.
Good point. One of the more subtle themes of the novels is why Satou ended up becoming so secretive. When he presented himself as a commoner (even if he denies it, he has been a King since early in Volume 1), greedy nobles would have stripped him of everything if they had a clue about his riches. Even as a noble, thieves keep trying to break into his house. And after every feat, the local community tries to force him to stay and fix THEIR problems instead doing the fun exploring with his kids that he wants to do instead.
Hayato should just had a good spy follow Satou around but is too young to figure it out. Hell, just stay in the same town all the time.
You also have to remember that Satou has completely messed up the timing of the different demon summons. Just in the first four volumes of the LN, he sends one Demon back to Hell and prevents the Demon that was supposed to be summoned in Muno City.
